You have been asking for it, and now it’s here! The Hot Chocolate Guru’s have finalized (at long last) the ingredients and the nutritional information of Vibe Coffee’s Hot Chocolate Pod which is now available to purchase (click here to buy).
They have “cracked the code” in creating the perfect Hot Chocolate drink for you to enjoy at home. And we are here to tell you about it.
Hot Chocolate Pod – Nutritional Information:
For an 8 gram pod (the total weight and volume of the hot chocolate ingredients) this is how the nutritional information is broken down…
- Energy (kilojoules) = 134
- Protein = 0.38
- Fat (total) = 0.66
- Saturated Fats = 0.43
- Carbohydrates (total) = 5.8
- Sugars (as part of carbs) = 5.09
- Sodium = 7
- Salt = 0.16
We highlight the amount of Sugar because we understand, for many, this is a hot topic. This is also important to us. We wanted to make a delicious hot chocolate and at the same time, respect people’s awareness of sugar intake. We have delivered an incredibly tasty hot chocolate pod with the minimal amount of sugar possible.
To support this comment, consider research from the British Heart Foundation which addresses the amount of sugar in a standard Hot Chocolate….
A small hot chocolate from a high-street coffee shop can contain nearly five teaspoons (20g) of sugar.
When looking at the above statistic of 20 grams, consider two things…
- This amount does not include the potential use of full-fat milk and whipped cream which are common additions to a hot chocolate.
- The Vibe Coffee Hot Chocolate Pod has 5.09 grams of sugar, one quarter the amount. And one pod creates one standard hot chocolate drink.

What is “Beverage Whitener”:
A “beverage whitener” is a non-dairy creamer, commonly also called tea whitener or coffee whitener or else just creamer. Its intended to substitute for milk or cream as an additive to coffee, tea, hot chocolate or other beverages.
What is “Acesulfame potassium”:
Why is Vibe’s Hot Chocolate Pod so good?:
One of the biggest reasons for the delay in getting the Vibe Hot Chocolate Pod ready is making sure the hot water (which comes from your Coffee Pod Machine) mixes equally through all the ingredients in the pod.
You can have the best ingredients in the world but if they do not interact with the hot water in the right way, the hot chocolate taste is average.
When you apply hot chocolate powders into a mug, you have a wide area (in the mug) to allow the hot water to mix with the ingredients AND you have a spoon to stir the hot water into the hot chocolate powder. That luxury is not available for Hot Chocolate Pods. Which is why there are many average tasting hot chocolate pods available in the market.
To get the taste right requires the perfect interaction between hot water and hot chocolate ingredients. This is another reason why we say we have “cracked the code” because the rigorous testing process has made us 100% confident, the Vibe Hot Chocolate Pods will interact with the hot water every time. The has come as a result of a unique manufacturing, mixing, and packing process which is part of our “Secret Sauce”:)
The only caveat to the above comment about water mixing with the pod is that your coffee pod machine is running properly. If you are not sure, read our article on how to clean (or descale) your coffee pod machine (click here).
